After 25 Years

The Family Skate for Abby has been cancelled.

For a quarter of a century, this beloved event brought families across Lancaster County together to skate, celebrate, and honor Abby's memory. We are deeply grateful to everyone who skated, volunteered, and showed up year after year.

🌸

The annual grant making process will continue each fall, with the application process and deadline listed on the Grant Application page.

⛸️ What It Was

A Celebration for the Whole Community

The Family Skate for Abby was the annual event of the Abigail L. Longenecker Memorial Foundation. The A.L.L.M.F. held this celebration FREE for the public to attend, and during the event presented monetary grants to selected nonprofit organizations of Lancaster County.

It was a joyful tradition — families lacing up skates, children laughing on the ice, and a community gathering to celebrate the good that Abby's spirit continues to inspire.

❤️ Our Purpose

Why the Foundation Exists

The Abigail L. Longenecker Memorial Foundation was formed in 1998 to provide funds annually to nonprofit organizations for specific projects benefitting children in Lancaster County.

📋 Looking Ahead

The Mission Continues

While the skating event has come to a close, our commitment to Lancaster County's children has not. Nonprofits can still apply for funding each year.
